PRESCOTT, Arizona — Police say a Prescott man suspected of defrauding another man of more than $160,000 may have victimized others.

Authorities said Wednesday that they believe 62-year-old John Feckanin has defrauded others.

Feckanin was booked into Yavapai County Jail on June 9 on charges of fraudulent schemes and practices, issuing a bad check and theft.

Police say Feckanin was hired in April 2014 by an elderly homeowner to work around the house.

They allege Feckanin persuaded the victim to lend him money several times over the course of a year.

Feckanin would repay the victim with checks under the condition they not be cashed until a specific date.

Police say all the checks were returned for insufficient funds when the victim tried to deposit them last month.
