BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Strong storms with potentially damaging winds are moving through Alabama.
No damage was reported Friday morning, and forecasters say the storms shouldn't cause a major outbreak of severe weather.
But the weather service says periods of damaging winds and large hail are possible. So are some short-lived tornadoes.
The weather service says storms could reach as far south as the coast. They began crossing the state from northwest Alabama overnight.
Stronger storms spawned tornadoes that cause damage in the Midwest on Thursday.
