BEATTYVILLE, Kentucky — Kentucky State Police are searching for two inmates who escaped while being transported back to jail in eastern Kentucky after a court appearance.

Police say Dallas Trent and John Trent, who are cousins, apparently jumped out of the transport van Wednesday afternoon when the jailer slowed down for another vehicle along a highway in Lee County.

Kentucky State Police Lt. Christopher Crockett told WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/1Ncf4Cp) that troopers think one of the men was able to get his handcuffs off and unlock the door.

Police say the men, who were jailed after a Wolfe County grand jury indicted them on charges of robbery, aren't armed but might be dangerous.

Police say anyone who knows their location should call 859-623-2404 or 1-800-222-5555.
