SYRACUSE, New York — Syracuse has hired Joe Adam as offensive line coach.
Adam replaces Pat Perles, who left Syracuse after one season in which the Orange ranked in the top 40 nationally in rushing with 194.8 yards per game.
Adam spent five years as defensive coordinator at Division III Elmhurst and was named head coach after Tim Lester resigned to join Scott Shafer's staff at Syracuse as the team's quarterbacks coach. Adam also was Elmhurst's recruiting coordinator and assistant head coach under Lester.
Before joining the Bluejays, Adam spent one year at Western Michigan as a graduate assistant coach under Shafer and worked three seasons at Grand Valley State, serving one year under current Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and two seasons for Chuck Martin, recently hired as coach at Miami (Ohio).
