Border Patrol agents seize marijuana in southwest Arizona; 8 people arrested in 1 case


YUMA, Arizona — The Border Patrol says its agents made multiple arrests in two seizures involving hundreds of pounds of marijuana in the desert of southwestern Arizona.

The agency's Yuma Sector office said agents arrested eight people and seized 368 pounds of marijuana valued at $184,000 on Friday south of Interstate 8 near Gila Bend.

The second seizure involved 311 pounds of marijuana valued at $155,500. That marijuana was found abandoned near a Border Patrol base southeast of Yuma.
