Omnicom posts 4Q profit, results beat Wall Street forecasts


NEW YORK — Omnicom Group Inc. (OMC) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $323.9 million.

The New York-based company said it had profit of $1.30 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.26 per share.

The advertising company posted revenue of $4.2 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Analysts expected $4.14 billion, according to Zacks.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.08 billion, or $4.24 per share. Revenue was reported as $15.32 billion.

Omnicom shares have declined 2 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has decreased nearly 1 percent. The stock has risen 2 percent in the last 12 months.
