Couple in murder-suicide near Silverthorne had filed for divorce after 52 years of marriage

FRISCO, Colorado — The Summit County coroner's office has identified a couple involved in a murder-suicide.

Sheriff's deputies called to a home southwest of Silverthorne for a welfare check Tuesday night found the bodies of 75-year-old James McNaul and 73-year-old Dorthe McNaul. Investigators say James McNaul shot and killed his wife with a handgun and then shot himself.

Dorthe McNaul suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The Summit Daily reports (http://bit.ly/1zC4CdK ) the couple had recently filed for divorce after 52 years of marriage.
