Travis Hammons added 19 points and Gabe Levin had 12 points for the 49ers (12-12, 6-3 Big West)
CS Northridge (8-15, 3-6) was led by Kendall Smith and Michael Warren with 14 points apiece. Tavrion Dawson had 13 points and Aaron Parks added 10.
A close game throughout, the game was tied at 68 with 3:45 left on a 3-pointer by Dawson. But Faust responded with a jumper on the next possession, was fouled, and made the free throw. Long Beach State led the rest of the way.
