Pedestrian hit by car in Albuquerque dies from injuries


ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — Police in Albuquerque say a pedestrian who was hit by a car has died.

Police spokesman Tanner Tixier (teh-shay) says the incident happened Thursday night on Central near California.

Tixier says the pedestrian was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The driver was not injured and was cooperative with authorities.

Police believe neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the accident. They do not expect to file charges at this time.

The identity of the pedestrian was not released.
