NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — Authorities say several animals died in a mobile home fire in Maine.

The fire was reported around 4 p.m. Monday in New Gloucester.

Town Fire and Rescue Department Capt. Scott Doyle says fire engines made several attempts to drive up a hill to the home.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the mobile home's windows. Crews were able to contain the fire within 10 minutes by pumping water 800 feet up the hill.

No injuries were reported. Doyle says multiple animals were found dead in the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
