SANDSTON, Virginia — The Virginia National Guard has resumed routine operations following storm recovery work in Southwest Virginia.

The Guard mobilized more than 125 soldiers on Feb. 22 to help local authorities respond to a winter storm. Soldiers delivered food, water, medicine and other supplies, evacuated homes and removed snow berms that limited access to roads.

The Guard says in a news release that soldiers returned to routine operations on Sunday.
