Police: Woman killed when sport utility vehicles collide on southern New Jersey roadway

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, New Jersey — Authorities say a woman was killed when two sport utility vehicles collided on a southern New Jersey roadway.

Egg Harbor Township police say the crash occurred around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

They say 62-year-old township resident Pauline Camarota was southbound on Fernwood Avenue when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Her SUV then collided with another driven by 17-year-old township resident Abigail Dingman, who was eastbound on West Jersey Avenue.

The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway and Camarota's SUV struck a tree. She was flown to a hospital, but died there a short time later.

Dingman and a passenger in her SUV were not seriously injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
