Man sentenced to life without parole for slaying outside Towson Town Center mall

TOWSON, Maryland — A man has been sentenced to life without parole for the shooting death of a teenager outside an upscale department store at a Baltimore County mall.

Tyrone Brown was the third person convicted in the December 2011 slaying of 19-year-old Rodney Pridget. Prosecutors say Brown followed Pridget through Towson Town Center mall and shot him six times just after he left the building.

William Ward and Frank Williams were convicted of first-degree murder for orchestrating the killing. They were also sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors say the killing was intended as revenge for the robbery and shooting of Williams' cousin. They say it was ordered by members of the Black Guerilla Family, the gang at the center of a scandal at the Baltimore city jail.
