NASHVILLE, Tennessee — A man wanted on charges of murder and robbery in Nashville has been captured in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Nashville police say the U.S. Marshal's Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force found 24-year-old Javon Spivey on Friday after getting a tip from Nashville Crime Stoppers.

Police issued a warrant for Spivey's arrest charging him first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery in connection with the August 30 home invasion and shooting death of 48-year-old Charles Peterson, IV. Peterson's mother, 70-year-old Ann Peterson, was wounded that same day.

Spivey also faces charges of aggravated robbery and especially aggravated kidnapping. Police say he pistol-whipped and robbed an employee of the Mapco store on August 28th.

Spivey is in custody and awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
