Scarlett, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas stifle Kissimmee Osceola 31-0 in 7A title game

ORLANDO, Florida — Jordan Scarlett rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown to lead Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas to a 31-0 win against Kissimmee Osceola in the Florida high school Class 7A championship game on Friday night.

St. Thomas Aquinas (14-1) won the 7A title for the second time in three years.

The Raiders defense kept Osceola in negative yards for the first 3 1/2 quarters. Osceola finished the game with 38 total yards, much of it coming on a 31-yard pass from quarterback Isaiah Wilson to Edtwain Black with the game out of reach.

Scarlett gave the Raiders a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter on a 39-yard touchdown run. St. Thomas Aquinas quarterback Jake Rizzo threw touchdown passes to Devante Peete and Connor Fee in the second half.

Rizzo also rushed for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Raiders a 17-0 lead at halftime.

The Raiders were led on defense by Brandon Boyce (9 tackles, 4 1/2 tackles for loss) and Wyatt Ray (6 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks).
