NEW YORK — Joba Chamberlain is joining the New York Yankees' crowded disabled list.

The reliever has a strained right side and will be put on the DL retroactive to April 28, the Yankees said Thursday.

He joins shortstop Derek Jeter, third baseman Alex Rodriguez, first baseman Mark Teixeira, outfielder Curtis Granderson, infielder Kevin Youkilis and catcher Francisco Cervelli on the DL.
