VALDOSTA, Georgia — Valdosta State University will use solar power to run its library.
University officials held a ceremony last week to mark the installation of a 10-kilowatt solar canopy behind the library.
The Valdosta Daily Times (http://bit.ly/1hOjZwR ) reports the new panels should provide enough energy to run the equivalent of a computer lab, though it's a small amount compared to the university's overall energy use.
VSU President William McKinney called the installation a "first step in sustainability."
