PENSACOLA, Florida — Wildlife investigators are working to determine what killed a 20-foot Beaked Whale that washed up in front of a popular Pensacola Beach hotel.

The whale was discovered in front of the Margaritaville Hotel early Monday.

The dead whale was transported to the Emerald Coast Wildlife Rescue in Fort Walton Beach where a necropsy is planned to determine the cause of death.

A scientist for nearby Gulf Islands National Seashore told the Pensacola News Journal (http://on.pnj.com/1uSyuoV) that it appeared the whale washed ashore overnight.
