Urawa Reds beat Yokohama F Marinos 2-1 to reclaim lead in J-League standings

SAITAMA, Japan — Yuki Muto and Tsukasa Umesaki scored late in the first half Saturday as Urawa Reds beat Yokohama F Marinos 2-1 to reclaim the lead in the J-League standings.

Sho Ito put Yokohama in front on 34 minutes but Muto equalized in the 41st and Umesaki gave the hosts the lead for good with a header just before the break.

After six games, Urawa has 14 points, one clear of treble winners Gamba Osaka, who won 2-0 away to Shonan Bellmare courtesy of goals from Takashi Usami and Yasuhito Endo.

In other matches, Kosei Shibasaki and Takuma Asano scored to lead Sanfrecce Hiroshima to a 2-1 win over FC Tokyo. Yoshinori Muto scored his fifth goal of the season for Tokyo, which lost for the first time this season.

Sagan Tosu beat Ventforet Kofu 3-0, and Kawasaki Frontale edged Vegalta Sendai 3-2.
