BILLINGS, Montana — A 19-year-old Billings man has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide for a fiery crash that killed his passenger and seriously injured the woman's 4-year-old daughter.

The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1r3DVe2) Damian Scott Strever entered his plea Tuesday for the April 2013 death of 26-year-old Nina M. Klein of Billings.

District Judge Russell C. Fagg isn't bound by the plea agreement, which recommends a partially suspended sentence. Strever's sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 23.

Prosecutors say Strever had used meth and was driving at speeds of up to 103 mph when the car went off the road in Lockwood, was airborne for about 160 feet before landing on its roof in a field and catching fire. Klein's daughter suffered a broken pelvis and head and chest injuries.

Strever remains jailed with his bond set at $35,000.
