NATCHEZ, Mississippi — A clean energy company has executed an 18month option with Adams County for 70 acres of the former International Paper property.

EmberClear GTL MS, a Canada-based company, is proposing natural gas-to-liquids project that could produce 4,000 barrels of methanol daily and will be capable of converting it into 14,000 barrels of gasoline and liquid petroleum gasses a day.

Natchez Inc. Executive Director Chandler Russ tells The Natchez Democrat (http://bit.ly/1MTUiVZ) that the process is still in the early stages. Russ says the company is worked to get permits moved on the property.

EmberClear officials have said the project will create about 1,000 construction jobs and 150 jobs when completed.

Russ says the county has already received its payment for the option on the property. He says EmberClear is looking at financing.
