NATCHEZ, Mississippi — One of three suspects charged in the January murder of a Natchez liquor store employee has been indicted.
District Attorney Ronnie Harper tells The Natchez Democrat (http://bit.ly/18nBA8R ) 21-year-old Kenneth J. Carver Jr. was indicted by the grand jury on charges of armed robbery and murder when the jury met in early November. The indictment was served this week.
Harper says 21-year-old James H. Anderson Jr. and a 16-year-old were charged with armed robbery and murder along with Carver in February, but Anderson and the teenager have not been indicted.
Police believe the suspects ambushed 49-year-old Tyrone Bernard while he was closing up DD's Package Store on Jan. 3.
Bernard died of a single gunshot wound to the left abdomen.
