WEST SENECA, New York — Police have charged a western New York man with murder in the death of his 77-year-old mother.
Police in the Buffalo suburb of West Seneca say Primitivo Cruz turned himself in Tuesday afternoon, a day after investigators publicly said they wanted to question him about the suspicious death of retired teacher's aide Carol Quinn.
Quinn's body was found in her apartment Saturday. Police haven't said how she died.
Cruz was being held by police pending an initial court appearance Tuesday evening. It wasn't initially known if he has a lawyer.
Local media report that Quinn had an order of protection against Cruz following a domestic incident earlier this month.
