California Highway Patrol officer, another motorist hospitalized following Orange County crash

IRVINE, California — A California Highway Patrol officer and another motorist were hospitalized following a crash at an Orange County intersection.

The CHP says the crash happened early Thursday in Irvine as the officer was responding with lights and siren to another traffic crash.

City News Service says the CHP patrol vehicle collided with a red Camaro at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Jeffrey Road.

The officer was hospitalized in unknown condition.

The driver of the Camaro had moderate injuries.
