Fisher Fire near Flagstaff in northern Arizona reaches 75 percent containment

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — A wildfire in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff near the Canyon Vista Campground has been downgraded and some of the assigned crews are being released for duty elsewhere.

Forest spokeswoman Heather Noel says the Fisher Fire near Fisher Point in Walnut Canyon about five miles southeast of Flagstaff was holding at 175 acres on Monday.

Noel says the fire was at 75 percent containment Monday morning but expected to reach 100 percent by evening.

No structures are reported as being threatened.

The fire was first reported Friday afternoon. It's confirmed as human-caused but a specific cause hasn't been determined as an investigation continues.

A wildfire burned in the same area last year.
