El Paso County authorities say man aiming for squirrel shoots man working nearby instead

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Authorities say a 67-year-old man is recovering after accidentally being shot in the arm by a man aiming for something else.

El Paso County sheriff's officials say the 70-year-old shooter was aiming for a squirrel Friday when he shot the man, who was working nearby. The injured man sought treatment at a hospital.

The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/197F4x2 ) the shooter was issued a summons for misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and prohibited use of a weapon.
