NE Pa. man gets 8 months to 2½ years for aiding suspect following murder of college student

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania — A man charged after police said he drove a friend to another state following the murder of a northeastern Pennsylvania college student has been sentenced to eight months to 2½ years in prison.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune ( ) reports that 19-year-old Kristopher Adkins of Scranton was sentenced Tuesday in Lackawanna County Court.

Police said Adkins drove 19-year-old Ryan Harding out of state a few days after Harding shot and killed 22-year-old Lackawanna College student Rashan Crowder. Harding pleaded guilty to third-degree murder last month.

Adkins also pleaded guilty to terroristic threats and possessing an instrument of crime in connection with a fight while he was out on bail.

Judge Michael Barrasse asked him "What on Earth were you thinking?"

Adkins replied "All I can do is learn from the past."
