Former Birmingham museum security guard sentenced on child pornography charges

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — A former museum security guard has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison on child pornography charges.

WBRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Z8JxvZ ) 53-year-old Loyd Jeffrey Hitt, of Center Point, was sentenced Monday in federal court. Hitt pleaded guilty to receiving and possessing child pornography in February.

Authorities say Hitt mail ordered pornographic videos and photographs beginning in 2009 and also received illicit photos of children over the Internet. Officials say the pornographic images features underage boys. Investigators say Hitt sent the mail ordered pornography to the Birmingham Museum of Art.
