75-year-old man surrenders to Kenner police in slaying outside auto shop

KENNER, Louisiana — Kenner police say a 75-year-old man has been arrested on one count of second-degree murder in a fatal shooting outside an auto shop.

Police say in a news release that Roger Batiste turned himself in Friday.

Police say Batiste is charged in the shooting death of 27-year-old Shane Vicknair. Vicknair's body was found outside Performance Automotive around 9:55 a.m. Friday.

Investigators say the shooting was the result of an apparent argument between the two men.

No bond has been set for Batiste.
