Cheyenne man pleads guilty to role in fatal shooting-stabbing that killed 22-year-old

CHEYENNE, Wyoming — A 23-year-old man has pleaded guilty in a shooting and stabbing in south Cheyenne that left one man dead.

Cameron D. Scott entered his plea Friday in Laramie County District Court to one felony count of aggravated assault and battery. A plea deal calls for a suspended prison sentence of four to six years in favor of five years' probation.

Formal sentencing is scheduled Aug. 9 before District Judge Thomas Campbell, who will decide whether to accept the plea bargain.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/13udV2P ) Scott and 22-year-old Connor Tarr allegedly stabbed 28-year-old Brian M. Sears before Sears shot and killed Tarr last Dec. 6.

He's free on bond.
