LYNN, Massachusetts — Investigators say a fire that gutted a Lynn church last month was deliberately set.
The state Fire Marshal's office on Tuesday offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the person or people who set the blaze at the El Siloe Seventh-day Adventist Church on May 22.
The blaze at the 118-year-old church left more than 100 people without a place to worship.
Church officials said the building had been the target of vandals in the months before the blaze.
Investigators do not believe the blaze is connected to an arson fire at a city apartment building in March that left dozens homeless.
Church elders say they will rebuild.
