Child pornography evidence will be allowed at man's trial in 2005 slaying of 5-year-old Iowa girl

FLOYD, Iowa — A judge says prosecutors may use evidence of child pornography possession against a man accused of killing a 5-year-old northern Iowa girl in 2005.

Judge Gregg Rosenbladt filed his ruling Wednesday in the murder case of 35-year-old Casey Frederiksen, whose trial is scheduled to begin March 2 on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse.

Prosecutors say Frederiksen was watching Evelyn Miller at the time of her disappearance in July 2005. She was the daughter of his live-in girlfriend. The little girl's body was found in the Cedar River a few days after she was reported missing.

At a hearing about the child porn's admissibility, prosecutors said Frederiksen's computer contained images of children about Evelyn's age engaged in sex acts with men.
