Convicted rapist who fled Lexington courthouse captured in Wyoming

LEXINGTON, Kentucky — A former Army Ranger who fled from Fayette County Circuit Court last summer just before being convicted of rape and sodomy has been caught in Wyoming.

Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/19uGq0G ) that 29-year-old John C. Buckley IV was back in custody after he fled July 12.

A U.S. marshals task force found Buckley in Wyoming. A news release from the marshals office said Buckley was arrested Wednesday by members of the Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force along with marshals offices in Colorado and Wyoming.

Buckley was out of jail on bond during the trial. He had been ordered to wear an ankle monitor that tracked him, but authorities said it had apparently been cut off.
