Virginia State Police adds 50 new troopers

RICHMOND, Virginia — The Virginia State Police has added 50 new troopers to its ranks.

A graduation ceremony was held for the troopers on Friday at the State Police Training Academy in Chesterfield County. They were to report to individual duty assignments on Monday for six weeks of final training.

State police say in a news release that a number of new troopers have prior experience with other law enforcement agencies and/or the military.
