Del. inmate serving life sentences dies after long illness

DOVER, Delaware — Corrections officials say an inmate serving two life sentences plus 80 years for attempted murder has died after a long illness.

Delaware's Department of Correction says 70-year-old Richard Frank died Saturday. No foul play is suspected.

Frank, who was from Virginia Beach, Virginia, died in the prison infirmary. Officials did not say what illness he had suffered from.

Corrections officials say Frank was serving time for two counts of attempted murder, three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a felony and robbery. Frank had been in prison in Delaware since 2003.
