GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — Authorities say a woman whose body was found at the base of a cliff near Rifle died of hypothermia.

Thomas Walton, Garfield County's deputy coroner, tells the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1sFLskN ) it appears 65-year-old Maureen Jewell was injured in a fall down the ravine where the body was found Sunday.

Jewell was last seen alive last Wednesday and had spoken with a friend by phone Thursday.

Her husband of more than 30 years, Bill Jewell, died in February 2013 when a vehicle he was working on apparently fell on top of him at the couple's home.
