Police identify driver, 88, in death of pedestrian, 66, in suburban Albany

COLONIE, New York — Police in suburban Albany have identified the driver of the car that struck and killed a 66-year-old man and fled the scene.

Colonie police say Raymond Mosall was killed in front of his brother's house in a residential neighborhood Friday evening. A Hyundai Elantra believed to have been involved in the accident was found abandoned late Friday night.

Police said Sunday the Hyundai driver was identified as 88-year-old Josephine Santandrea of Colonie. She told police she wasn't aware she had struck a person.

Police say no charges have been filed, but the department is conferring with the Albany County District Attorney's Office.
