Suffolk County Police say 27-year-old Daniel Moreira, of Deer Park was driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway in Melville at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday when he struck the rear of another vehicle.

Police say Moreira, who was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He's to be arraigned at a later date. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
