Early voting for Nov. 4 election to begin soon for Ohio military, overseas voters

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Elections officials in Ohio will start mailing absentee ballots Saturday to registered military and overseas voters who have requested one.

The Nov. 4 election includes races for governor and attorney general, along with other statewide officeholders. Voters also will decide a number of legislative races and the outcome of more than 1,600 local issues.

Secretary of State Jon Husted (HYOO'-sted) says county elections boards will send absentee ballots to other voters beginning Sept. 30, when early in-person voting is slated to begin.

Husted says more than 266,000 Ohio voters have already requested an early ballot for the fall election. His office sent more than 6 million absentee ballot applications to voters around Labor Day.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is noon on Nov. 1.
