Woman fatally struck by train in Sunnyvale; 13th person killed on Caltrain tracks this year

SUNNYVALE, California — A train has struck and killed a woman just north of Sunnyvale in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Caltrain spokesman Will Resiman says the identity of the woman, and the circumstances that led to her death on Saturday were under investigation.

She was the 13th person killed on the commuter train system's tracks this year.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (http://bayareane.ws/1K3JgiK) last year, 10 people were fatally struck on Caltrain tracks.
