Police say woman killed, 2 injured when driver drifts into oncoming traffic


LIMA, New York — A woman is dead and two people are being treated for serious injuries after a head-on car crash in upstate New York.

The accident happened shortly before 10 p.m. Friday in the town of Lima in Livingston County.

Police tell the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester ( ) that 44-year-old Amy Patterson was headed east on Routes 5 and 20 when she drifted in to the westbound lane.

Police say Patterson struck a car driven by 66-year-old Wayne Frisbe.

Frisbe's passenger, his wife, Jeannine Frisbe, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Patterson and Wayne Frisbe are being treated for their injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
