REDWOOD CITY, California — A man has been convicted of taking part in the 2001 murder of a 15-year-old boy in Daly City.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1eUCSME) 34-year-old Reynaldo Maldonado faces 25 years to life in prison when he's sentenced in January for his role in the stabbing death of Quetzlcoatl (KET-sul-KWAH-tul) Alba.
Authorities said Maldonado held the teen as co-defendant Erick Morales stabbed him in the neck and chest in May 2001. Morales is scheduled to go on trial in January.
Alba was found dead in a storage room in the carport area of an apartment complex.
Both men were on lam for years. Maldonado was eventually found in Miami and Morales was arrested in 2009 in New York.
