FLINT, Michigan — A teenage boy and a young man have pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and torture in the slaying of a 57-year-old homeless veteran in Flint two years ago.

Authorities say that Branden T. Harris was 15 and Peris A. Dorsette was 20 when they attacked Gary Nagy. They entered the pleas Wednesday, when they were scheduled to go on trial in Genesee County Circuit Court on first-degree murder charges.

The Flint Journal (http://bit.ly/1ydnypv ) reports that witnesses say that Harris and Dorsette saw Nagy sleeping under a trash container near a school and began taunting him.

Nagy's body was found July 30, 2013.

Judge Archie Hayman has scheduled their sentencing for May 11. The killers face up to life in prison.
