Aston Villa loses 2-1 to Stoke in Tim Sherwood's 1st game in charge

BIRMINGHAM, England — Stoke spoiled Tim Sherwood's debut in charge of Aston Villa after Victor Moses' stoppage-time penalty gave the visitors a 2-1 win at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

Scott Sinclair had headed Villa in front only for Mame Biram Diouf to level just before half time.

Moses' winner came after he was brought down by Ron Vlaar, who was sent off.

Villa remains in the relegation zone, while Stoke is 10th.
