LEWISTON, Maine — Law enforcement officers have rounded up 11 people on drug charges who'll join three men already in custody, as agencies targeted cocaine and heroin in the Lewiston area.

Three of the men were arrested last month including 29-year-old Tasheem Carter and 31-year-old Christian Dent, who are charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. Officials say Carter, Dent and 28-year-old Michael Boney lived in the Lewiston area and in Far Rockaway, New York. It was unknown if they have lawyers.

The other 11 men and women were arrested on Friday on a variety of drug charges.

Law enforcement officials said they plan to hold a news conference Tuesday on the operation that involved coordination among state and federal agencies.
