Brown explodes in final minutes to give Indiana St a 59-56 comeback win over S. Illinois

CARBONDALE, Illinois — Devonte Brown hit a deep 3-pointer with two seconds left, snapping a tie to give Indiana State a 59-56 comeback victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday.

Brown finished with a career-high 22 points, 19 of those in the second half with all three of his 3-pointers in the final 2:40. He scored 10 of Indiana State's final 13 points to close out the game.

Indiana State trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half but climbed within two after a 6-0 run with 3:58 left. A free throw and back-to-back 3's from Brown put Indiana State in front for the first time in the contest. Anthony Beane tied the score at 56-all with 23 seconds remaining, but Brown's final 3-pointer sealed it for the Sycamores (8-8, 4-0 Missouri Valley Conference).

Bola Olaniyan led the Salukis (7-10, 0-4) with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
