CASPER, Wyoming — Smoke could be visible from Casper this weekend as firefighters conduct a prescribed burn on Casper Mountain.

The Casper Mountain Fire Department plans to burn a slash pile starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1yeeeSx) fire crews will monitor the burn.

Firefighters ask local residents not to call 911 if they see smoke coming from the Tower Hill area.

Casper Mountain was the scene of a wildfire that destroyed 37 homes in 2012.
