BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania — Authorities say a fire in an eastern Pennsylvania home has claimed the life of one person.

Fire crews in Northampton County were dispatched just before 11 p.m. Monday to the Lower Saucon Township residence.

Deputy Chief Brian Evans of the Se-Wy-Co Fire Company said the two-story home was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.

Emergency dispatches reported ammunition going off inside the home before the blaze was extinguished by 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The county coroner's office confirmed one fatality Tuesday morning and said other details would be released later.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
