Police ID fatal stabbing victim on Long Island street as 18-year-old woman

HUNTINGTON STATION, New York — Police have identified the woman who was found stabbed to death on a Long Island street.

Suffolk County police say 18-year-olod Maggie Rosales was discovered face down in Huntington Station at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police say she was found on Lynch Street near Depot Road by a pedestrian who called 911.

The victim's father, Cesar Rosales, tells Newsday (http://nwsdy.li/1v2BuhY ) he can't understand who would want to kill his daughter. He says she never had problems with anyone.

The family has lived in the area for two decades.

No one has been arrested. Police didn't provide details of the stabbing or if a weapon was recovered.
