PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — Tre Hagood scored 22 points and Prairie View topped Mississippi Valley State 84-74 on Saturday.

Hagood was 10 of 18 from the floor as Prairie View shot 46 percent. John Brisco had 16 points and Montrael Scott added 13. Reggis Onwukamuche had 11 rebounds with nine points.

Prairie View (10-16, 8-5 Southwestern) dominated most of the first half. Jaryn Johnson's 3-pointer gave the Panthers a nine-point lead 6 ½ minutes in. The lead grew to 20 on Jacoby Green's trey with 4:21 until halftime, but MVSU chipped away and reduced the deficit to 11, 47-36, at intermission.

MVSU clawed back to tie at 54 on Jeffrey Simmons' layup with 13:03 left, and the and-one lifted the Delta Devils to their only lead of the day. Hagood's jumper on the next possession gave Prairie View the lead back — for good.

MVSU (5-22, 4-10) was led by Simmons with 25 points. Isaac Williams added 12 and DeAngelo Priar had 10.
